September 2009

Robert Kistenberg, MPH, CP, LP, FAAOP attended the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington.

Chris Fink (MSPO 09) presented his capstone research entitled, “Body Center of Pressure Control during Gait Initiation in Transtibial Amputees” at the American Society of Biomechanics Meeting in State College, Pennsylvania. The research was conducted at Georgia Tech in conjunction with Jasper T. Yen, Arick Auyang and Young-Hui Chang, PhD.

Lee Childers (MSPO 2007 and current PhD student in Applied Physiology with focus in Prosthetics and Orthotics) along with co-authors, Robert Kistenberg, MPH, CP, LP, FAAOP and Robert Gregor, PhD recently had their research published. The article entitled, “The biomechanics of cycling with a transtibial amputation: Recommendations for prosthetic design and direction for future research” will appear in the September issue of Prosthetics and Orthotics International.
