Congratulations to 2nd year MSPO student, Michael Socie, recipient of the 2013 Dan McKeever Scholarship which awards $1,000 to only three O&P students across the nation. Mike was awarded the scholarship based on high academic achievement, leadership qualities, and financial need.
MSPO student Lauren Levey (MSPO class of 2014) and PhD student with focus on Prosthetics and Orthotics, Tracy Norman presented research on the use of lower limb prosthesis technology and clinical practitioner career opportunities in the profession of Prosthetics and Orthotics at Georgia Perimeter College.
MSPO students Megan Crawford, Seth Smith and I-Ting Chuang (class of 2014) served as hosts and presenters in the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine. The event was held in conjunction with Emory University Medical School and involved a site visit to the MSPO facilities at Georgia Tech where high school students from around the U.S. engaged in design and fabrication of orthoses and prostheses as well as learning from wearers of the technology.
