Welcome Aboard Scott French, CPOA, CTO!
The faculty, staff and students of the School of Applied Physiology and the MSPO programs are pleased to welcome Mr. Scott French, CPOA, CTO as the new senior Prosthetic and Orthotic Fabrication Laboratory Supervisor. Scott brings over 14 years of technical design and fabrication experience in the Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P) profession. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, studying Movement Science before entering the P&O profession where he worked in facilities located in Massachusetts and North Carolina. He later attained board certification as a Prosthetic and Orthotic Assistant (CPOA) and Certified Technician in Orthotics (CTO) by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics. Scott is also board eligible as a Technician in Prosthetics.
Dr. Lee Childers (MSPO, 2007, Applied Physiology PhD, 2011) published research related to his MSPO capstone research and PhD dissertation in the January issue of the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics. The manuscript is entitled, “Measurement of motion between the residual limb and prosthetic socket during cycling”. A coauthor of the article is Dr. Robert Gregor, PhD, former chair of the School of Applied Physiology and currently an emeritus faculty in the School of Applied Physiology.
