The MSPO Program welcomes the class of 2010. The Orientation Week activities concluded with the annual white coat ceremony in which the faculty and staff as well as the MSPO class of 2009 welcomed the incoming MSPO students. The students received the keynote address by the president of the Georgia Society of Orthotists and Prosthetists, James Young, CP, LP, FAAOP, were welcomed by the director of the MSPO program, Christopher Hovorka and received a welcome address by the chair of the School of Applied Physiology, Richard Nichols. All incoming students recognized and adopted the practitioner’s oath.
The MSPO program congratulates adjunct faculty member, John Michael, MEd, CPO, LPO, FISPO, FAAOP, who served as editor for the recently released fourth edition of the AAOS Atlas of Orthoses and Assistive Devices. The textbook is considered an essential information resource for practitioners in the management of persons who require an orthosis as part of a treatment plan.
